Betty's story
"Cigarettes aren’t controlling me anymore."
Hometown: Dartmouth
Year quit: 2008
Betty had tried to quit many times. When she hit her 40s, she decided she needed to get healthier and started to think about quitting. But struggling to breathe on a hiking trip with her daughter made her decide it was time. She says exercise and staying active kept her motivated. “Have the mindset and be ready and give it a try. It can’t hurt to try.” Betty shared her story about quitting after many tries to help motivate others to try to stop and to Make Smoking History.
