As the former Mayor of Northampton, Clare is a both a positive and public role model for others to quit. Clare was sick and tired of feeling sick and felt like smoking was “throwing boulders in the way” of taking care of her health. Once Clare was determined to quit, she quit for good. To help prepare, Clare began to limit when and where she could smoke. She then used the patch for a couple of weeks after her quit date.
